LHM is accepting applications for their campus and community programs part & full time positions for 2nd & 3rd shifts to assist adults with Developmental Disability; starting pay of $17.50 per hour additional $2.00 hour for week-ends and other benefits.
All Applicants must meet the following qualifications: HS Diploma or GED, ability to lift 40 lbs., able to pass a physical/drug test and BCI/FBI background check. Valid driver’s licenses (max of 4 pts.) with reliable transportation for transporting, with some experience is helpful. Must be able to pass CPR/FA and Med Admin training. LHM provides all training for your new job.

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards.
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including memory care for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility and prevent injury.
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior that require escalation or medical attention.
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through compassionate communication and respectful interaction.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus.
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, hospice care or long-term disability assistance is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for prolonged standing or walking is necessary.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Familiarity with care plans development and documentation standards ensures quality service delivery.
