About the Positions

We’re seeking Construction Managers at various levels to support large, heavy-civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, bridges, transit (including rail and bus), and airport projects delivered through both traditional and alternative methods. In this role, you'll oversee construction activities, coordinate contractors, enforce safety and quality, and keep work moving in line with the project requirements and budget.

This post is for future roles and not for a specific opportunity that is available right now. We accept applications and conduct interviews in advance of upcoming hiring needs. When a candidate is selected, their profile is activated in our talent pool for this specialty area. We notify our talent pool candidates first whenever we have a project need.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide construction-phase leadership from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee field execution to ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor and report on schedule, scope, budget, and risk management activities for multiple task orders.
  • Manage submittal, RFI, and change order processes, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
  • Conduct field inspections and coordinate with safety and quality assurance teams to verify compliance.
  • Track daily progress, quantities, and cost performance against approved budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate and chair construction progress meetings, site walks, and issue resolution sessions.
  • Review contractor schedules for critical path impacts and verify construction sequencing aligns with approved plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, consultants, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to keep work aligned and on track.
  • Prepare and deliver clear reporting materials, including status updates, risk logs, and resource forecasts.
  • Support commissioning, operations readiness, and transition-to-maintenance planning as applicable.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable environmental, quality, and safety standards.

Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to field-level details.
  • Collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Natural curiosity and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years' experience in successfully managing and overseeing large (>$500M), complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience overseeing construction on behalf of an owner or agency, including contractor performance monitoring, change order and claim review, and field issue resolution.
  • Working knowledge of construction contract administration, submittals, RFIs, inspection, and quality documentation on publicly funded projects.
  • Proficiency with industry standard project and construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, eBuilder, Procore, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE), or Architect Registration (AIA).
  • Experience delivering projects through both traditional and alternative methods (e.g., DB, CM/GC, P3).
  • Field experience with inspection, construction coordination, and contractor oversight.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation platforms such as e-Builder, Procore, or similar.
