Automotive Mechanic

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
• Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering systems.
• Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and wheel balancing to optimize vehicle safety and performance.
• Service diesel engines and powertrains, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs such as welding, auto body work, and component replacements.
• Interpret technical schematics and repair manuals to execute precise repairs on GM vehicles or other makes.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and recommending maintenance to enhance vehicle longevity.

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive repair shop background preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions.
• Ability to read schematics and utilize automotive diagnostics software effectively.
• Experience repairing diesel engines and working with powertrain components is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with auto estimating processes and auto body repair techniques is a plus.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance of automotive electrical systems.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Pay: $53,261.53 - $74,142.92 per year
