Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering systems.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and wheel balancing to optimize vehicle safety and performance.
- Service diesel engines and powertrains, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs such as welding, auto body work, and component replacements.
- Interpret technical schematics and repair manuals to execute precise repairs on GM vehicles or other makes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and recommending maintenance to enhance vehicle longevity.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive repair shop background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions.
- Ability to read schematics and utilize automotive diagnostics software effectively.
- Experience repairing diesel engines and working with powertrain components is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and auto body repair techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance of automotive electrical systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
