Barista/Cashier

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient barista/market cashier to join our vibrant local market and coffee shop team located in beautiful Lake Lure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in beverage preparation, POS systems, and retail operations while creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks with attention to quality and presentation
• Operate POS systems.
• Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner, ensuring a positive experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment sanitation and stock replenishment
• Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform basic math for sales
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service

Experience

• Previous barista experience is not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Familiarity with coffee industry standards, serving techniques, and food safety protocols is advantageous
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions are essential
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced café environment
