Role Description
The Logistics Manager at Luray Peanut Company plays a critical role in coordinating order fulfillment, delivery scheduling, and internal communication to ensure efficient and accurate distribution of products. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment. This position will also require the ability to create and implement SOPs and processes to aid in overall business growth.
Qualifications
1. Order Processing & Sales Support- Manage incoming orders via email, phone calls, and walk-in customers.
- Create and update sales orders in the inventory management system.
- Generate invoices, update with lot numbers, and submit to Accounts Receivable.
- Provide customer support for order inquiries, delivery timing, and general questions.
- Develop and manage delivery schedules using Samsara.
- Coordinate delivery timing directly with customers.
- Collaborate with production team members to align order readiness with shipping schedules.
- Create and maintain a Weekly Shipping Calendar.
- Lead and facilitate weekly logistics/shipping meetings.
- Maintain and update the Sales Orders Master Sheet with delivery dates and Proof of Delivery.
- Prepare and ship product samples via UPS.
- Ensure proper packaging and timely shipment of all outgoing samples.
- Process cash payments and credit card transactions.
- Assist Accounts Receivable with filing and documentation.
- Manage incoming mail by sorting and distributing accordingly.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and documentation.
- Track delivery performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Ensure all order, delivery, and payment data is properly recorded and communicated across departments.
- Proven experience in logistics, operations, or administrative coordination.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in systems such as SOS Inventory Management, QuickBooks Online, and scheduling tools (e.g., Samara) preferred.
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills.
- Experience in food distribution or manufacturing is a plus.
