THE ROLE
This is a junior-to-mid-level portfolio management role focused on one clear outcome: maintaining a strong understanding of our active portfolio so we can proactively assess risk while building strong, trusted client relationships.
You’ll work closely with the Client Success team to stay on top of client performance, financial reporting, funding activity, repayments, retail developments, and key business milestones. You’ll help ensure we have the information and context needed to identify potential risks early while delivering a high-quality experience to our clients.
Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow beyond active portfolio management, contributing to new-business strategy, developing deeper client relationships, and eventually owning relationships from initial pitch through the full client lifecycle.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support day-to-day management of client relationships, serving as a responsive and reliable point of contact for routine questions and requests.
- Prepare for and participate in recurring client check-ins, including developing agendas, gathering relevant financial and business updates, and documenting next steps.
- Track client performance, upcoming retail launches, inventory needs, repayment timelines, and other key account milestones.
- Proactively follow up with clients on outstanding deliverables, financial reporting, documentation, and action items.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information across internal systems and portfolio trackers.
- Identify potential client risks, challenges, or growth opportunities and escalate them to the appropriate team member.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have 1–4 years of experience in a client-, vendor-, account-, or portfolio-facing role where you've had to combine relationship management with analytical thinking.
- You have a strong understanding of the retail ecosystem.
- You have a growth mindset.
- You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined about follow-up.
- You are comfortable working with CRM systems, LinkedIn, email outreach tools, research platforms, AI tools, and spreadsheets.
- You communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently in writing and in conversation.
- You are curious about how consumer brands grow and excited to develop a deeper understanding of retail, working capital, and finance.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary
- Flexible hybrid work setup (Minneapolis, North Loop HQ)
- Direct exposure to company leadership and real opportunity for career growth
- A collaborative team and a chance to shape the future of fintech
