Long Term Substitute Humanities Teacher

Lunenburg Elementary School, serving children in kindergarten through grade 5, seeks a long-term substitute teacher. Experience with literacy, workshop model, reading and writing units of study, collaboration, positive behavior interventions, and Responsive Classroom would be beneficial. We seek a creative, passionate teacher who loves children. A sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people is necessary. The individual must be a team player who will work together with colleagues, special educators, and interventionists. There will be an opportunity to work alongside our current 3-5 Humanities teacher before the role moves to the solo long-term substitute position. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467. Lunenburg Elementary School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston, and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor opportunities.
