General Job Description
- The Electronics Technician installs, services and repairs marine related electronic equipment. Specific tasks include:
- Obtaining job assignment from Service Manager
- Reviewing the job assignment
- Preparing tools and equipment at the office for the job
- Obtaining any shop supplies required to complete the job (wire, etc.)
- Transporting equipment and supplies to job site (vessel)
- Working with customer personnel at the vessel to clarify work required
- Completing job on the vessel per assignment and to customers satisfaction
- Completing service invoice as required. Service should include; vessel name, hours worked, equipment installed (including model and serial number), description of work performed, customer signature.

Types of Marine Electronic Equipment
- The types of equipment include:
- Radars
- VHF and SSB radios
- GPS sonar and fish finding equipment
- satellite communication equipment
- autopilots
- Any other marine related electronic equipment
Location of work
- Installation, service and repair work can occur onshore at our offices or on-board marine vessels, including but not limited to:
- Commercial fishing vessels
- Tug boats
- Ferry boats
- Pleasure vessels
- Other marine vessels

Job Description: The Electronics Technician installs, services and repairs marine electronic equipment including; radios, radars, GPS systems, fish finders and other marine electronics. Work is performed at our Ballard office and on vessels.
Responsibilities:
· Utilize hand and power tools to Install, maintain, and repair marine electronic systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
· Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues effectively.
· Provide exceptional customer service while assisting clients with inquiries and repairs.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used, ensuring adherence to licensing requirements.
Qualifications: 2 years of marine electronics experience. FCC GROL with Radar Endorsement is preferred but direct marine electronics technician experience will be considered in lieu of the license. MEI, AMEI, N2K certifications highly desirable. Marine trade knowledge preferred.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move over 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push, pull, work at heights and work in tight spaces.
