As the Senior Product Developer at Lundberg, you will play a strategic role in leading the end-to-end development of sustainable, consumer-driven products—from concept through commercialization. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, and collaboration to ensure product excellence and alignment with Lundberg's mission and business goals.
This a hybrid position with an expectation to be onsite in Richvale, CA roughly one week per month. Ideal candidate will live within a ~3-4 hours radius of Richvale.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Product Development
- Manage R&D projects from feasibility and ingredient sourcing through launch and post-launch review.
- Develop product specifications, testing protocols, and documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
- Partner cross-functionally and with external suppliers and copackers to drive innovation.
Drive Improvement & Efficiency
- Lead cost-saving initiatives through formulation and process optimization.
- Solve technical challenges in product performance, manufacturing, and scaling.
- Support continuous improvement in product quality, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Ensure Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including GMP and HACCP.
Foster a culture of safety and continuous learning within R&D and production teams.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Process Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years of progressive experience in product and process development within consumer packaged goods.
- Expertise in clean-label food innovation; rice, snack, or retort experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Genesis, ERP systems, and SharePoint a plus.
