Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality and consistency, including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all tools and appliances are maintained in excellent condition
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to uphold health standards and prevent contamination
- Assist with food production and meal preparation for high-volume service periods
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including dishwashing duties and proper food handling practices
- Support menu planning efforts by adhering to recipes and portion control guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
Skills
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or catering staff preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and dishwashers
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining quality standards
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal presentation techniques
- Excellent food handling skills with an emphasis on safety and hygiene standards
