Job Overview
I'm seeking a dependable part-time Snow Removal Technician to join my team and help me with driving, job setup and snow removal to help ensure safe, accessible driveways and pathways during winter months. In this role, you will ideally be on call to help me specifically around (before, during, and after) snowstorms: driving, loading equipment on/off trucks, clearing snow and ice from driveways, walkways, parking lots, and other outdoor surfaces using a variety of tools and equipment. The "on call" nature of this job makes it a very flexible side hustle, allowing you take advantage of the winter season to make some money and help residential clients!
***This job is open to people who just want to do one, or a combination of any of the following: drive, job set up, snow removal (snow blowing, shoveling, salting/sanding, ice management).
Duties
- Must have a valid driver's license (if driving).
- Use hand tools such as shovels, snow blowers, brooms, and salt spreaders to clear driveways, sidewalks, steps, patios and smaller pathways .
- Apply de-icing materials like salt or sand to prevent ice formation and improve traction
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor surfaces to identify icy patches or hazards needing attention
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on snow removal equipment, including power tools and mechanical devices
- Assist with landscaping, lawn care, and landscape maintenance tasks during off-peak seasons to support overall property upkeep.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when operating machinery such as excavators or other heavy equipment used for snow removal or site preparation.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to coordinate snow removal efforts efficiently and respond promptly to urgent requests.
- Keep detailed records of completed work, equipment maintenance, and safety checks for accountability.
Experience
- Prior experience operating snow blowing equipment is highly desirable.
- Social media savvy and marketing knowledge is preferred to help me promote my business and generate leads.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, landscaping machinery, and basic maintenance procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, tree care (including trimming), irrigation systems, and horticulture practices is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, excavators, or other construction-related machinery will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of hardscape installation or repair can contribute to broader property improvement projects.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards is required
- Strong attention to detail in inspecting surfaces for hazards and ensuring thorough snow removal efforts is important
