Sandal Production Associate – Gluing (Part-Time)

Part-time role: approx. 12 hrs/week, 3 days/week Evenings and/or weekends — exact schedule very flexible (any time outside 8-4 M-F) $18/hr

LUNA Sandals is looking for someone to join our manufacturing team here in Wenatchee, gluing outsoles and uppers together as part of our sandal-building process. The role is a hands-on, physically active process with good flow — you'll get into a rhythm and take pride in a clean, consistent build.

About LUNA

LUNA Sandals makes minimalist running and adventure sandals, handcrafted in a converted 1940s apple storage building in Wenatchee, Washington. Our USA line is built one pair at a time by a small team of makers who cut, stitch, and lace every sandal by hand: a craft rooted in the Tarahumara running tradition that inspired our founder. We're a small, tightly knit team, and everyone here wears more than one hat.

About the Role

You'll be a key part of our production floor, responsible for gluing outsoles and uppers together to build our sandals. You'll work with a range of materials — leather, rubber, and EVA — and take care of some material prep along the way. It's steady, physical, hands-on work with a good pace once you get into the flow of it. You’ll be consistently moving trays of materials through the various stages of adhesion: surface prep, glue application, surface heat activation, and finally pressing with an air powered press.

This is primarily an after-hours solo role: wearing the proper PPE, you'll be gluing independently, which makes it a great task for putting on some music or a podcast and finding a nice groove.

No specific experience is required. Attention to detail and process is critical. You must be comfortable working with your hands, operating simple tools and machinery, and consistently lifting and moving trays.

What You'll Do

• Glue outsoles and uppers together to precise, consistent standards
• Work with leather, rubber, and EVA materials
• Prep materials ahead of gluing (trimming, prepping surfaces, staging pieces, etc.)
• Consistently move (10-15 lb.) trays of materials through the various stages of adhesion
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe workstation
• Maintain a steady pace and quality standard through your shift
• Wear appropriate PPE - respiratory protection, gloves, etc.

• Reliable and able to work independently once trained
• Flexible availability for evening and/or weekend shifts (outside 8-4 M-F)
• Must be 18 years or older

• Experience with assembly or similar hands-on production work
• Experience working with leather, rubber, or other craft/production materials
• Interest in footwear, outdoor gear, or handmade manufacturing
