What are the responsibilities and job description for the Publicity Intern position at Lumos PR?

From securing interviews with top media outlets, planning panels for Comic-Con and WonderCon, escorting clients at red carpet premieres and film festivals like Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, and Tribeca, to walking our nominated clients down the carpet at the Oscars and Emmys - Lumos PR does it all and no two days are ever the same.
As a Publicity Intern at Lumos, you will be involved in a wide range of duties which include supporting the team in building media lists, drafting pitches, revising bios, brainstorming, planning events and assisting with other ad-hoc projects throughout the year.
Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate student
- Must have the right to work in the US
- Working towards a degree relevant to PR
- Based in California, preferably Southern California.
Requirements
- Pleasant, professional attitude, and personality (we like nice, honest, hard-working people!)
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and clients, in a professional and mature manner
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and undertake various administrative duties
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Strong writing and critical thinking skills
- Strong MS Office skills
- Strong interest in a future career in PR
Daily Tasks
- Building media pitch lists
- Monitoring media breaks and press coverage
- Writing and revising bios
- Reviewing and revising written client interviews
- Research upcoming film, TV and film festival releases
- Attend and assist regional and special events as needed (screenings, premieres, junkets, festivals etc.).
Internship Timeline
- This internship will run April 2026 - August 31, 2026.
- Interns who perform well, will be invited to extend through January 2027, allowing them to experience the full awards season cycle through Emmys, Oscars, and festival season.
Pay
- $18.90/hour
This position is currently remote but we are based in Los Angeles and love to get together for work events whenever possible. We are a close knit team and it is all hands on deck. Your work matters!
