- Planning out a schedule for your students before each day.
- Teaching short lessons with slides that have been prepared for you.
- Running the activities in class every day.
- Organizing and running one-on-one coaching sessions (15 minutes each) with students to help them review concepts and improve their speeches.
- Eating and socializing with your students during lunch time.

- You do not need prior debate experience to work at Lumos, although debate experience is very helpful if you are teaching at our Debate Institute program. Our goal is to get the students to love public speaking and debate so they will gain confidence, work on core skills, and for many, join their school’s debate teams. Our most important goal is for the students to have fun, because we want them to associate learning public speaking/debate and fun together.
Job Training
Training documents will be provided. You will also be provided with example blog posts, example parent emails, and a database of activities you can utilize to plan your daily schedules.
Housing and Transportation
Housing and transportation are not provided by Lumos. You must supply your own housing and transportation to and from camp.
