Surgical Scheduler

Position Objective

Overall responsibility for scheduling surgical/procedural patients’ surgical/procedural procedures achieving 98% accuracy rate.

Essential Job Duties

• Communicates professionally with physicians, physicians' office staff and co-workers providing excellent customer service skills and works collaboratively with a variety of individuals.
• Create and schedule patients for surgical /procedural procedures in the appropriate Scheduling module. As needed prints daily OR schedule for the following day as well as weekend schedule.
• Answers all incoming phone calls with proper greeting 100% of the time. Continuously checks department and individual voicemail throughout the day returning phone messages promptly.
• Responds to department emails as assigned in department rotation.
• Rearranges cases upon request of physicians or physicians' staff and/charge nurse of HP OR, ESP OR, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath lab.
  
  

Educational/Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of related work experience with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required
