Clinical Education Specialist (RN) for Inpatient Behavioral Health at Luminis Health
Job Summary
This role promotes high-quality, cost-effective healthcare through expert clinical education. The Clinical Education Specialist collaborates with leadership to plan and implement organizational and departmental goals, creating a climate of innovation.
Main Responsibilities
- Provides education on regulatory standards, current clinical practices, and safety standards to staff.
- Coordinates and evaluates the orientation process for new unit staff.
- Determines unit competencies and ensures competence of staff in collaboration with other departments and nursing areas.
- Participates in quality improvement activities and the Clinical Education Council.
- Maintains staff education tracking records.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director and Unit Leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Participates in job candidate evaluations and staff performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years as a Registered Nurse in a relevant care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in nursing staff development or leadership with knowledge of adult education principles.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification and Maryland Board of Nursing licensure required.
