We are currently looking for an Accountant to join our office in Sweden (Gothenburg or Herljunga). In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations in Sweden. The primary duties will involve managing accounting processes, financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee full accounting for the subsidiaries in accordance with local accounting and tax regulations in Sweden.
- Prepare and approve financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, in compliance with applicable standards (IFRS or/and local GAAP, etc.).
- Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Collaborate with external auditors and prepare documentation for audits.
- Prepare tax filings (VAT, CIT, other mandatory reports) in both countries.
- Handle intercompany transactions and consolidation between subsidiaries in different jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll requirements.
You Profile
- Proven experience as an accountant or senior accountant.
- Expertise in Swedish accounting and tax regulations.
- Background in international or cross-border operations.
- Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and experience with ERP systems.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work in an international team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting, tax regulations, payroll and employer obligations in Sweden.
