JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Director of Sourcing at Luminary Logistics Solutions you will lead the pricing and sourcing strategies to ensure our customers receive the most efficient, cost-effective, and innovative logistics solutions. You will oversee the pricing team, develop comprehensive pricing models, and establish sourcing protocols that align with our strategic objectives. This executive role requires an analytical mindset, exceptional leadership skills, a project cargo background, and the ability to drive excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring the pricing team to execute detailed pricing functions for Luminary Logistics Solutions within the project/job bidding process.
- Developing and overseeing competitive pricing strategies for logistics services across all modes, including barge, crane & rigging, rail, terminal operations, trucking, and warehousing for project cargo and general freight.
- Guiding the team to collaborate with internal stakeholders to design end-to-end logistics solutions that meet customer needs and requirements.
- Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships, leading contract negotiations, and securing the most competitive rates that meet the risk profile of customer requests to win and execute profitable projects.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize costs throughout the supply chain and recommending strategic process improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor pricing to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Aligning pricing and sourcing strategies with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure comprehensive success for our customers and the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive project cargo experience in a 3PL environment, leading pricing, sourcing, and logistics management team.
- 5-10 years of project cargo and related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience in a business discipline.
- Deep knowledge of all transportation modes, incoterms, logistics, and supply chain concepts
- Strong leadership skills with proficiency in strategic planning and team development.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives effectively.
- Results-driven, highly organized, and capable of leading multiple tasks in the realm of transportation and logistics.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving industry.
- Proficiency in Apple Mac and MS Office Suite, including Cloud Storage and CRM, in the context of ocean freight logistics.
- Experience with Cargowise is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
