WE ARE HIRING: In-House Medical Biller & Auto No-Fault Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced In-House Medical Biller & Auto Specialist to join our team on-site in Farmington Hills, MI. This role requires an established professional who can independently manage our revenue cycle operations, handling both standard medical insurance billing and specialized Michigan Auto No-Fault (PIP) claims.
Please note: This is a strictly in-office position requiring at least 5 years of hands-on, office-based medical billing experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Auto No-Fault (PIP) Management: Verify PIP coverage, claim numbers, adjusters, policy limits, and open claim status. Submit Form 1500 claims with supporting documentation in compliance with Michigan Auto No-Fault order of priority regulations and fee schedule rules.
- Claims Processing & Coding: Oversee charge entry, review clinical notes for proper CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding and modifiers, and submit clean claims to Commercial payers (BCBSM, Priority Health, Aetna), Medicare, and Michigan Medicaid (CHAMPS).
- A/R & Denial Resolution: Post ERAs/EOBs, perform systematic A/R follow-ups on unpaid claims past 30 days, and file aggressive administrative appeals for underpayments or wrongful denials.
- Adjuster & Office Collaboration: Communicate directly with auto adjusters, PIP case managers, and legal reps to collect payments. Assist front desk staff with Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) errors and primary care billing updates.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience working in a medical office setting.
- Auto PIP Expertise: At least 2 years of direct experience handling Michigan Auto No-Fault (PIP) claims, adjuster communication, and fee schedule updates.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Practice Management (PM) systems, clearinghouses, and portals (e.g., Availity, CHAMPS).
- Work Location: Must be able to work 100% on-site in our Farmington Hills office (Monday – Friday).
- Certifications (Preferred): AAPC/AHIMA certification (CPC or CPB) is a plus.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
