Crew Member

JOB TITLE: Groundsman (CDL Class A)

JOB CLASS: Hourly, Full Time

JOB HOURS: 40-Hour Week, Typically M-F 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with possible variations to accommodate specific project requirements. Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.

SALARY RANGE: $24.00/HR to $28.00/HR, Depending on Experience/Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position for a person to assist our traffic signal construction/maintenance crews in the daily course of transportation activities. Daily activities may include, but are not limited to electrical conduit assembly, traffic signal pole foundation work, signal pole/mastarm assembly & installation, signal head assembly, pulling wire/signal cables, vehicle detection work, hand excavation of trenches and foundations, traffic signal controller work, and lighting systems.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Must have some Construction experience
• Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn
• Be self-motivated and work productively
• Have physical strength, and endurance, and work well with your hands
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Limited amount of hand tools will be needed
• Provide your own transportation to and from work and typically report to work at the job site.
• Abide by all the company safety rules

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist crews by working on the ground, handing tools and heavy materials to workers.
• Flagging traffic maintaining safety around vehicle parameters. 
• Assist line crew with setting poles by shoveling or picking; fills anchor holes.
• Clears undergrowth from right-of-way by using hand tools or saws. 
• Worksite cleanliness
• Performs other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES:

• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A.
• Must be insurable/ Will be subjected to MVR application before employment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work at heights over 20 feet.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 80 pounds.
