Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction treatment and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role requires a commitment to patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate healing and recovery in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to individuals and groups.
- Utilize case management skills to coordinate care and resources for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of assessments, treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with ICD-10 coding and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and coping strategies.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide resources and support for family members to understand and assist in the recovery process.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction counseling.
Requirements
- A masters degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- A valid Michigan counseling license (LMSW/LLMSW, LPC/LLPC, LMFT/LLMFT or similar).
- MCBAP certification (CADC, CAADC, CCS) or willingness to implement and execute a MCBAP Development Plan
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and familiarity with ICD-10 coding is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to addiction treatment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A genuine passion for helping individuals achieve recovery from addiction.
This position is a contract hired position - it will include being paid per encounter with documented notes.
