Position Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations within a high-mix, labor-intensive electrical wire harness production environment. This role carries full ownership of production performance, including P&L management, labor productivity, cost optimization, and adherence to piece-rate standards.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven leader capable of balancing throughput, quality, cost, and delivery while driving operational excellence, workforce efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in ensuring scalable production, consistent output quality, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations to consistently achieve production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
- Drive operational efficiency by optimizing throughput, reducing cycle times, and minimizing downtime.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs such as OEE, labor productivity, first-pass yield, and delivery performance.
- Ensure strict adherence to piece-rate standards and defined productivity benchmarks.
- Implement Lean manufacturing practices to eliminate waste and enhance process flow.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leads, and shop-floor operators.
- Build a high-performance, accountability-driven culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Plan and optimize workforce requirements, including hiring, staffing, and shift scheduling.
- Address performance gaps through structured coaching, training, and performance management systems.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and a positive, disciplined shop-floor environment.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and relevant certifications.
- Drive zero-defect initiatives and improve first-pass yield through continuous quality improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve defects and prevent recurrence.
- Identify and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency.
- Drive digital transformation through ERP/MES systems for real-time tracking, traceability, and process control.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and planning teams while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, audits, and a safety-first culture.
