Structured Cabling Technician

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structured Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex cabling systems that form the backbone of modern telecommunications and network infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic, telephony, and low voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings
• Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss
• Set up and configure network devices such as Cisco routers and switches to establish secure and efficient network connections
• Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble, install, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure
• Conduct field service activities including diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring system performance meets quality standards
• Measure electrical parameters using tools like ohmmeters to verify cable integrity and continuity
• Collaborate with team members and clients to plan cable routes, adhere to safety protocols, and complete projects on schedule

Skills

• Extensive experience with fiber splicing techniques for high-speed data transmission
• Strong background in network installation, including Ethernet wiring and telecommunication systems
• Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and basic network configuration
• Knowledge of computer networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting methods
• Hands-on experience with telephony systems and low voltage cabling installations
• Mechanical aptitude for working with various hand tools such as crimpers, testers, drills, and wire strippers
• Electrical experience related to cabling infrastructure, grounding, and circuit testing
• Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings accurately
• Field service experience working directly on-site with clients in fast-paced environments
