Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic, telephony, and low voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings
- Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss
- Set up and configure network devices such as Cisco routers and switches to establish secure and efficient network connections
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble, install, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure
- Conduct field service activities including diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring system performance meets quality standards
- Measure electrical parameters using tools like ohmmeters to verify cable integrity and continuity
- Collaborate with team members and clients to plan cable routes, adhere to safety protocols, and complete projects on schedule
Skills
- Extensive experience with fiber splicing techniques for high-speed data transmission
- Strong background in network installation, including Ethernet wiring and telecommunication systems
- Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and basic network configuration
- Knowledge of computer networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting methods
- Hands-on experience with telephony systems and low voltage cabling installations
- Mechanical aptitude for working with various hand tools such as crimpers, testers, drills, and wire strippers
- Electrical experience related to cabling infrastructure, grounding, and circuit testing
- Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings accurately
- Field service experience working directly on-site with clients in fast-paced environments
