Custom Packaging and Shipment Co-Ordinator

Position Purpose: The position will have both direct packing responsibilities and limited oversight of other packaging staff members. The position will also initiate and co-ordinate the ordering of all packaging material, including custom boxes for our custom commercial lighting products. The position will also assist with inventory cycle counts and act as the department Lead in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

• Package products using standard and specialized materials and methods
• Verify shipment contents and documentation for accuracy
• Record weights, dimensions, and order details (physical and digital)
• Monitor and requisition packing materials to maintain inventory levels and satisfy production needs
• Inspect final packaging for quality and compliance
• Operate packaging tools and equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, tape machines, forklift, stretch wrap machines, dock leveler etc.)
• Assist with shipping paperwork, scheduling, and freight estimates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Perform periodic inventory counts and support other warehouse duties as needed

Essential Job Functions:

· Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting and carrying objects.

· Attendance as scheduled, 40 hours on a regular basis.

· Basic mathematical understanding.

· The ability to organize boxes on pallets in the most efficient manner to minimize pallet usage and shipping costs, good spatial understanding.

· Data entry accuracy.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school a plus)
• Fluent spoken and written English language skills required
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or shipping environment
• Familiarity with warehouse tools and equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrap machines)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook); MRP/ERP experience a plus
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety
• Team player with excellent time management and adaptability

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting (up to 35 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. occasionally)
• Standing, bending, and moving for extended periods
• Good hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling materials
• May use repetitive wrist and hand motions involving in sorting and handling documents.
• Close visual contact with a computer monitor on a regular basis.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs multiple times each day for entering and exiting the production floor.
