Job Summary
The Technician’s primary responsibility will be to undertake the steps necessary to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as cleanups, painting, minor plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting, landscaping etc. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. Occasional driving to pick up or dispose of production related materials.

Responsibilities-Essential Functions

  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
  • Keeps the premise operational, safe, and clean always.
  • Serve as Lead contact for all building and equipment service calls.
  • Performs minor maintenance around the building such as fixing damaged walls, replacing light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair broken or leaking plumbing and other HVAC equipment to keep the facility functioning properly and climate controlled.
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, security) and schedule repairs when needed
  • Perform all manual cleanups or repairs when necessary (fix locks, unclog toilets, cleanup spills, etc.)
  • Undertaking activities of pest control, as needed, and oversight of outside contractors that perform this function
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Monitor and dispose of recyclable material, on a regular basis.
  • Monitor snow removal contractor’s work, and supplement cleanup as needed, assuring a safe environment for employee entrance and exit from the building, and that the dumpsters are clear of snow and ice.
  • Maintain company vehicles (Cargo Van and Forklifts) and all related maintenance and repair records.

Other Duties

  • Drive a company vehicle, as requested, to pick up or delivery material.

Skill Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proven experience as maintenance technician, at least 1 year.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance on buildings and manufacturing machinery
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical strength and agility to fulfil essential duties.
  • Must have a willingness to work overtime, as needed, if needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus

  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
  • Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
  • Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Choose quickly and correctly among various movements when responding to signals.
  • Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
  • Use muscles to jump, sprint, or throw objects.
  • Use muscles for extended periods without getting tired.
  • While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side.
  • Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Determine from which direction a sound came.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance roles, with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
  • Proficiency in building/facility systems troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with using diagnostic tools is beneficial.
  • Basic mathematical understanding.

Job Type: Part-time
