Lumen Vision is seeking a full-time Vision & Learning Teacher (Vision Therapist) to join our growing team. Vision Therapists work directly with children, teens, and adults in individualized therapy sessions designed to improve visual skills that impact learning, reading, attention, coordination, sports performance, and daily life.
What is Vision Therapy?
Vision therapy is a specialized, non-surgical treatment program that helps patients improve how their eyes and brain work together. Many patients with visual skill deficits have 20/20 eyesight but struggle with eye tracking, focusing, eye teaming, visual processing, reading efficiency, headaches, double vision, or learning-related challenges. Vision therapy uses fun, engaging activities and exercises to strengthen these visual skills and help patients reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
* Work one-on-one with children and adults during vision therapy sessions
* Lead patients through individualized therapy activities and exercises
* Encourage, motivate, and celebrate patient progress
* Track patient performance and document therapy outcomes
* Communicate effectively with doctors, parents, and team members
* Learn specialized vision therapy techniques and equipment through our training program
* Help create a positive, welcoming, and engaging therapy environment
Qualifications
Required:
* Experience working with children in a professional setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Positive attitude and enthusiasm for helping others succeed
* Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and instructions
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred (but not required):
* Teaching experience
* Educational paraprofessional experience
* Childcare experience
* Occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, psychology, or healthcare experience
* Coaching or mentoring experience
