Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on POS Support Engineer to support, deploy, and maintain Windows-based Point-of-Sale (POS) systems in a retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows 10/11, POS hardware, device imaging, and ITSM tools, along with excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end support for Windows-based POS systems and peripherals.
- Install, image, configure, and deploy POS devices across locations.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and connectivity issues (break-fix support).
- Support device rollouts, upgrades, and refresh initiatives.
- Manage and maintain POS hardware inventory and asset records.
- Work with peripherals such as barcode scanners, receipt printers, and payment terminals.
- Log, track, and resolve incidents using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Follow ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure system stability and uptime.
- Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Proven experience supporting POS (Point-of-Sale) systems.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Hands-on experience with device imaging, configuration, and deployment.
- Experience with POS hardware such as HP Engage Go, Ingenico, or similar.
- Solid understanding of hardware troubleshooting and break-fix support.
- Experience using ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.
- Working knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in retail or store technology environments.
- Familiarity with SCCM, MDT, or other deployment tools.
- Exposure to large-scale device rollout projects.
