You will work closely with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences, while advocating for design best practices and ensuring alignment across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of user-centered, high-quality UI/UX solutions for complex applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, researchers, and engineers in an agile environment.
- Create, maintain, and scale design systems and component libraries.
- Translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive design solutions.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and synthesize insights into actionable improvements.
- Define, scope, and manage design tasks within Jira.
- Ensure consistency, usability, and scalability across all digital products.
- Advocate for design decisions and clearly communicate the “why” behind design choices.
- Balance structured processes with flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- 6 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex, user-centered designs.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional agile teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present and defend design decisions.
- Experience building and working with design systems and reusable components.
- Expertise in agile methodologies and workflows.
- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, FigJam, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of front-end UI principles and implementation constraints.
- Experience in enterprise or internal application design.
- Familiarity with rail, transportation, or operations-focused systems.
- Experience with usability testing tools such as dScout, Maze, UserTesting, or UserZoom.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.
- Primarily remote role with quarterly travel for PI Planning events.
- Travel includes on-site workshops and train-based user research sessions.
- Active participation in daily standups and agile ceremonies is required.
