JOB SUMMARY:
Client is seeking an experienced Card Identification Specialist to support a strategic enterprise initiative focused on modernizing and standardizing its physical credentialing ecosystem through the NextGen Smart ID Program.
This role will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for evaluating current credentialing systems, defining enterprise requirements, and helping shape the future-state identity architecture that will guide future implementation phases.
What You'll Do
- Lead enterprise-wide requirements gathering across business, operational, security, and technical stakeholders.
- Assess current credentialing systems, badge programs, integrations, and lifecycle processes.
- Research industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging identity technologies.
- Develop use cases, workflows, acceptance criteria, and conceptual architecture models.
- Define future-state Smart ID capabilities and implementation roadmaps.
- Support governance, compliance, audit readiness, and risk management initiatives.
- Establish enterprise credentialing standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, operations, and vendor teams to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
Required Experience
- 8 years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), credentialing, or enterprise identity programs.
- Strong background in enterprise requirements development and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience supporting large-scale credentialing or identity modernization initiatives.
- Expertise integrating Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) with IAM platforms.
Technical Expertise
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of:
- RFID, NFC, Smart Cards, PIV, and FIPS 201
- PACS platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, and Honeywell
- Identity standards including NIST 800-63, ISO 27001, PKI, SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect
- Hybrid identity environments (on-premises and cloud)
- FIDO2 and passwordless authentication technologies
- Zero Trust security architectures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within transportation, federal, government, or critical infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with TSA, FRA, or related regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting enterprise identity transformation programs
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP
- CISM
- CIAM/CIP (or equivalent Identity Management certifications)
- PSP or CPP
- PKI or Cryptography-related certifications
