Job Summary:
Lumbee Homes is seeking a dependable and hardworking Worker / Heavy Equipment Operator to assist with site preparation, home setup, and general labor. This position involves operating equipment, preparing dirt pads and footers, installing vinyl skirting, assisting with home deliveries, maintaining work vehicles, and performing other physical tasks necessary to complete each job safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and other machinery
- Prepare dirt pads and footers for manufactured home foundations
- Assist with delivering manufactured homes
- Install vinyl skirting and underpinning
- Perform general site preparation and cleanup
- Load and unload materials and tools
- Maintain and clean work vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections
- Assist with inspecting and securing homes as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Complete all physical job tasks required to finish projects properly and on time
Requirements:
- Experience operating heavy equipment preferred (skid steer, tractor, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work well with a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufactured home setup
- Experience with dirt work and grading
- Experience installing vinyl skirting
- Experience towing trailers or assisting with home delivery
Work Environment:
