Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)  
Location: Multiple locations  AZ, CA, NV, UT 
Shift:  

• 8- or 10-hour shifts 

• Day, Evening, or Night shifts 

• Schedule may include weekends and Federal holidays 

• Hours are based on patient volume and operational needs 

 
Contract Length: 6 Months to 1 Year (Option to Extend) 
Estimated Start Date: Pending Award and Completion of Credentialing Process 

Compensation: 

• Hourly Rate: $36.00 

• Travel weekly stipends (If applicable): Varies by location (based on GSA rates) 

• Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis. 

Benefits:  

• Health and Welfare: $5.09/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week) 

• PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service 

• Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked 

• 11 Paid Holidays: Following the Government calendar throughout the year 

Job Description: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to provide laboratory testing and diagnostic support in Indian Health Service facilities across multiple states. The ideal candidate will perform laboratory testing, specimen processing, and quality control while ensuring accurate, timely results and compliance with CLIA, IHS, and facility standards. 
Requirements: 

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualifying education 

• Current MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, or another nationally recognized certifying organization) 

• Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience 

• Current BLS certification (if required by the facility) 

• Experience with laboratory testing, specimen processing, quality control, and laboratory safety 

• Experience using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) 

• Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements 

• Experience in IHS, Tribal, Federal, rural, or CAP/CLIA-accredited laboratories is preferred 

 Responsibilities: 

• Collect, process, analyze, and verify patient specimens following laboratory procedures 

• Perform routine and moderately complex laboratory testing across multiple laboratory disciplines 

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while performing quality control procedures 

• Document laboratory activities, test results, and quality assurance data in the LIS and EHR 

• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, infection control, laboratory safety, and IHS policies 

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to support timely and accurate patient care 

• Participate in quality assurance, competency validation, and continuous quality improvement activities.
