2026-2027 School Year
Primary Purpose:
Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Perform data entry of required information for the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). Establish and maintain a positive, welcoming, efficient front office environment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing
Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to operate a multi-line phone system and campus security entry system
Ability to meet established deadlines
Experience:
2 years of data entry experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records and Reports
- Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures. Maintain student records and process requests for student information.
- Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions and concerns regarding student attendance.
- Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated administrator. Prepare written correspondence, forms and reports as needed.
- Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established procedures.
Reception
- Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Greet and direct campus visitors. Maintain an accurate visitor log and issue visitor passes.
- Assist campus staff with problem-solving. Assist in orienting and supporting substitute teachers on campus. Assist parents in checking students in and out of school.
- Receive, sort and distribute mail, messages, documents and other deliveries.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student academic, social and behavioral performance at all times.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with colleagues, parents, students and community members.
- Be a positive role model for students; support the mission of the school district.
- Provide clerical assistance as needed, including assisting with the scheduling of appointments, faculty meetings, conferences, and special events.
- Perform minor first aid, check temperatures, and administer approved medication to individual students in the nurse’s absence. Notify parents of student illness.
- Comply with state, district and school regulations and policies. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct the work of assigned student office aide(s), if any. Train student office aide(s) in developing an appropriate professional demeanor, communicating accurately, and maintaining confidentiality.

Salary Scale: $15.50-$24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
