Duties
- Supervise daily shop activities, ensuring timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks
- Coordinate and prioritize work orders for technicians, balancing workload to maximize productivity
- Oversee vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, including mechanical systems, electrical systems, auto body work, and tire changes
- Maintain high safety standards by enforcing proper use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting procedures
- Manage inventory of automotive parts and accessories, ensuring availability of necessary materials for repairs
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and estimating costs accurately
- Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures and systems
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance, auto estimating, auto body repair, and auto restoration projects
- Familiarity with standard passenger car operation, automotive electrical systems, and mechanical systems repair
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of automotive parts and accessories to assist in diagnostics and repairs
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team of technicians and support staff
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Experience in vehicle inspections, auto estimating, and auto service management is highly desirable
