Luke Landscape Contractors, LLC is a well-established landscape construction and maintenance company serving Northern Nevada and the surrounding areas. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Human Resources Administrator to support the company’s financial and employee-related operations.
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with essential human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have bookkeeping experience, a working knowledge of HR practices, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and customer billing.
- Process payroll and maintain payroll-related records.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Prepare regular financial reports for management.
- Coordinate with the company’s accountant regarding taxes, reporting, and year-end documentation.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and employee records.
- Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and required employment documentation.
- Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, applicant communication, and interview scheduling.
- Assist with employee benefits, workers’ compensation documentation, and leave administration.
- Track employee evaluations, training records, certifications, and policy acknowledgments.
- Help maintain and update company policies, employee handbooks, and job descriptions.
- Assist management with employee relations, disciplinary documentation, and other HR matters.
- Help ensure company practices remain consistent with applicable employment requirements.
- Perform additional bookkeeping, human resources, and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction, contracting, landscaping, or service industry.
- Prior human resources, payroll, or office administration experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
- General knowledge of employee onboarding, personnel records, benefits, workers’ compensation, and employment practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting managers and other team members.
- Willingness and ability to learn company-specific software and new technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree or certification in accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or human resources is preferred but not required.
