The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting daily sales floor operations. This non-exempt, hourly role includes weekday and weekend hours and requires an engaging, customer-focused presence on-site. The Sales Associate assists customers with product selection, answers questions, and ensures a welcoming and well-maintained shopping environment.
This role requires hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations, including assisting customers in person, over the phone, and via email; maintaining product displays; restocking merchandise; and supporting team members as needed. The Sales Associate plays a key role in creating a positive customer experience and contributing to overall sales success. A strong emphasis is placed on product knowledge, teamwork, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.

Requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Maintain a strong knowledge of products, including plants and related merchandise
- Assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining attractive product displays
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
- Support opening and closing procedures as needed
- Promote customer loyalty programs and encourage repeat business
- Handle customer inquiries, phone calls, and basic email communication
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and work areas
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a positive and productive environment
- Assist with loading merchandise and supporting customers as needed
- Follow company policies and safety guidelines at all times
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (horticulture industry preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks
