Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid Remote and Havre de Grace, Maryland
Travel: Some travel may be required
About the Position: The Data Scientist will develop machine learning, data mining, statistical and graph-based algorithms to analyze and make sense of datasets related primarily to signals data.
The Data Scientist will perform, at a minimum, the following requirements:
- Develop and implement statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques to create descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
- Prototype algorithms to target the most suitable model for the specific dataset/metrics
- Build models or develop experiments to generate data when training models
- Generate reports and/or visualizations that summarize datasets and provide data-driven insights to customers
- Partner with subject matter experts to understand the source and output goals of datasets
- Translate customer goals into quantitative formulations
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, mathematics, operations research, computer science, etc.)
- PhD is preferred
- 5 years or more experience working in a titled, or related, Data Scientist role
- Experience programming with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB
- Hands-on experience training models for machine learning and writing artificial intelligence focused algorithms
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive Pay: Annual salary ranges from $140,000 to $175,000. Salaries depend on labor category, years of experience, education, skills relevant to the position, and type of contract.
