What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Maintenance Person position at Ludlow Housing Authority?
Ludlow Housing Authority is accepting applications for a part-time maintenance person. Applicants must be familiar with interior and exterior building maintenance. Must be self-motivated and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Applicants must be in good health, possess a valid Massachusetts drivers license, pass a physical including drug screening and pass a CORI screening prior to employment. Hours will fit into our regular work week of Mon-Fri 8-430 with availability after hours for snow storms as needed.
· Ability to work without supervision when required.
· Ability to problem solve and make educated decisions.
· Be able to perform non-CSL carpentry tasks.
· Make basic non licensed electrical and plumbing repairs.
· Perform routine janitorial work.
· Be physically able to perform landscaping duties – mowing, weed whacking, trimming hedges, raking leaves
· Snow removal – shoveling, snow blowing, plowing and spreading ice melt.
· Ability to paint including making repairs to drywall and plaster in preparation.
· Perform work orders per the request of the Executive Director or Maintenance Supervisor
Qualification Requirements
· General knowledge of maintenance and custodial duties as well as building systems.
· Some experience in mechanical or construction field
· Ability to safely operate power tools, motorized equipment and hand tools.
· Ability to lift 50lbs
· Must be a team player with a positive attitude
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
· Ability to work with a diverse community
