What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Route Lead (Apartment Valet Trash Service) position at Ludlow District?
Job Overview
Ludlow District is launching a verified doorstep trash collection service for apartment communities in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Evening Route Lead to help run our first apartment valet trash routes during evening hours.
This is an early pilot role with room to grow. Initial hours may be limited, but the right person could grow into a local route supervisor or market lead position as additional apartment communities are added.
We are looking for someone dependable, practical, physically active, and comfortable working independently. This role is a strong fit for someone who wants more than a temporary evening job and is interested in helping build a local route operation from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Collect tied trash bags from apartment doorsteps and transport them to the community’s onsite dumpster or compactor.
- Follow a set route checklist each service night.
- Use a smartphone to clock in/out, take required photos, and confirm route completion.
- Document issues such as leaking bags, loose trash, bulk items, trash placed outside the pickup window, or blocked access areas.
- Submit route completion notes and photos after each shift.
- Communicate quickly and clearly if there are route problems, safety issues, or property concerns.
- Maintain basic service equipment such as a foldable cart/wagon, gloves, safety vest, and route supplies.
- Represent Ludlow District professionally when interacting with property staff or residents.
- As the company grows, assist with training additional route workers and helping organize nearby routes.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation.
- Smartphone with camera and GPS.
- Available for evening work, especially Sunday–Thursday.
- Able to walk apartment routes, climb stairs, and lift/carry trash bags as needed.
- Comfortable using a foldable service cart or wagon.
- Dependable and responsive. Missed routes are not acceptable.
- Willing to complete a background check.
Preferred Experience
- Janitorial, custodial, apartment maintenance, porter, warehouse, delivery, route work, gig work, or property services experience.
- Experience working independently without constant supervision.
- Lives near Greenville, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Greer, Taylors, or Spartanburg.
