Experienced Baker
We’re looking for an experienced baker who understands cake production and can consistently deliver quality results in a fast paced bakery.
Ludger’s Bavarian Cakery is a locally owned bakery and café seeking an experienced baker with a strong background in cake production. This position includes producing a variety of items for our bakery case, but cake experience is especially important. We need someone with the experience to produce high quality, consistent cakes while also contributing to our other daily baking needs.
Full time and part time opportunities may be available depending on experience and availability.
Base pay starts at $13 per hour, but we are prepared to offer higher pay to the right candidate based on professional baking experience and demonstrated skills. Team members also earn tips, which typically add approximately $2 per hour and are paid weekly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Bake cakes for custom orders and daily retail needs
- Produce cakes that consistently meet our standards for size, texture, and quality
- Prepare cookies, cupcakes, cream puffs, cheesecakes, and other bakery case items
- Follow established recipes and production procedures accurately
- Work efficiently to complete daily production needs
- Plan ahead and communicate when ingredients or inventory are running low
- Coordinate with decorators to keep cake production moving smoothly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food safe workspace
- Assist with other kitchen and production needs as required
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of professional baking experience strongly preferred
- Direct experience producing cakes in a professional bakery or kitchen
- Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and production procedures precisely
- Strong sense of urgency and a high production mindset
- Ability to maintain quality while working efficiently
- Comfortable with repetitive, physically active production work
- Dependable, focused, positive, and team oriented
- Willing and able to work weekends
- Able to stay on task and manage time with limited supervision
