The Contracts Administrator will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, managing and optimizing the contract management system, and developing contract playbooks and fallback guides to support streamlined and consistent contracting practices.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including PBM service agreements, pharmacy network agreements, NDA’s, Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), vendor agreements, and more.
- Manage and maintain the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system to ensure accurate tracking and efficiency.
- Develop and implement contract playbooks and fallback guides to promote consistency and streamline the contracting process.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and all applicable regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and federal and state PBM laws.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve contract-related issues and provide strategic guidance.
- Monitor contract performance and proactively manage renewals, amendments, and key milestones.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all contracts and supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements and industry best practices to enhance contracting operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contracts administration, ideally within healthcare organizations or pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
- Bachelor’s degree, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proficient in contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and related tools.
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements.
- Solid understanding of healthcare industry regulations and standards, including HIPAA and PBM-related compliance.
