Job Summary
This position focuses on ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of residents while promoting recovery, independence, and a therapeutic living environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and encourage participation in daily group therapies, recreational activities, and recovery-oriented programming.
- Provide direct supervision and support to residents in a residential behavioral health setting.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, room preparation, and orientation of new residents.
- Monitor residents' behavior, safety, and emotional well-being.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Observe and accurately document resident behaviors, progress, and significant events in accordance with agency policies.
- Conduct safety checks and maintain a secure, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Transport residents to medical appointments, community activities, and other approved destinations when required.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral crises using approved de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, supervisors, and outside providers regarding resident care.
- Follow HIPAA, confidentiality standards, infection control procedures, and all facility policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (In person training).
- Valid current Tubureclosis (TB) test result
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet Arizona Department of Health Services requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, residential care, or healthcare.
- Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification or eligibility under Arizona requirements.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, recovery-oriented care, and crisis intervention.
- Experience working with adults diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Pay: $15.15 - $18.00 per hour
