About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator/Project Manager with proven experience bidding and managing roadway, drainage, municipal, state, DOT, residential, and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, utility work, and interpreting complex plan sets. This role is critical to our continued growth as we expand our infrastructure services division.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret roadway, drainage, utility, and site development plans for municipal, state, DOT, commercial, and residential projects
- Perform accurate takeoffs, quantity calculations, and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Prepare and submit competitive bids, ensuring compliance with all specifications, codes, and agency requirements
- Manage awarded projects, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication
- Maintain strong understanding of FDOT specifications, permitting processes, and local municipal standards
- Communicate with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and suppliers to ensure project success
- Develop and monitor project budgets, timelines, and documentation
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kickoff sessions
- Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MUST be proficient in reading and interpreting roadway and drainage plans
- Experience estimating and managing municipal, state, DOT, commercial, and residential projects is required
- Strong knowledge of civil construction, utilities, stormwater systems, sanitary systems, and site work
- Minimum 3–5 years of estimating/project management experience in related fields
- Familiarity with FDOT standards, pay items, and bid practices
- Proficiency in estimation software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Valid driver’s license; field visits required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VAC truck, CCTV pipeline inspections, and underground utility scopes
- Knowledge of takeoff/estimating platforms
- Project Management certification or relevant technical degree
