Join the Lucky’s Energy Service Team!

Lucky’s Energy Service is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Credit & Collections Specialist to support our growing commercial fuel business. This position plays a critical role in managing credit risk, maintaining healthy accounts receivable, and supporting responsible business growth.

We're looking for more than someone who can manage accounts and process paperwork. The ideal candidate is an independent problem-solver who takes ownership, exercises sound judgment, and builds strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Management & Customer Onboarding

  • Review commercial credit applications, credit reports, trade references, and financial information to evaluate creditworthiness.
  • Recommend and establish appropriate credit limits, payment terms, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Verify customer information, maintain accurate credit files, and establish accounts in our ERP system.
  • Ensure required customer documentation, including tax exemption and resale certificates, is complete, accurate, and current.

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, payment trends, and credit exposure to identify and address potential risks.
  • Proactively contact customers regarding past-due balances, secure payment commitments, and document collection activity.
  • Investigate payment discrepancies, billing disputes, and outstanding balances to facilitate resolution.
  • Recommend appropriate credit holds, account adjustments, or escalation of high-risk accounts.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with sales, accounting, and operations to balance customer needs with responsible credit management.
  • Provide credit and collections reporting and communicate significant risks to management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve credit controls, customer onboarding, documentation, and collection processes.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, accounting, customer account management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Confidence communicating directly with commercial customers regarding credit requirements and overdue payments.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and common business applications; ability to learn ERP and accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • 2 years of commercial credit, collections, or accounts receivable experience.
  • Experience evaluating business credit reports, establishing credit limits, and working with ERP systems.
  • Background in fuel, petroleum, lubricants, transportation, construction, or industrial distribution.
  • Familiarity with commercial tax exemption and compliance documentation.

Why This Role Matters
