About the Role
Lucky Rabbit is seeking a skilled and dependable Phlebotomist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Fresno VA Medical Center. This role is part of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LM) and is essential to providing accurate, timely, and professional blood collection services for Veterans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collections from patients of all ages with professionalism and care.
- Accurately label, handle, and process specimens in accordance with VA and laboratory protocols.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding specimen collection procedures when necessary.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and patient privacy standards.
- Document all collections, patient interactions, and laboratory data in compliance with VA requirements.
- Collaborate with P&LM staff to support efficient lab operations and contribute to quality patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Current certification in phlebotomy (California state certification required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) certifications required.
- Minimum of one year of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered service.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
