Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain pets during bathing, grooming, and drying procedures to ensure their comfort and safety
- Perform pet baths, brush-outs, nail trims, ear cleaning, and other grooming services with attention to detail
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by regularly disinfecting tools and workspaces
- Monitor pets throughout the grooming process for signs of stress or health issues, escalating concerns as needed
- Assist with pet handling techniques learned from dog training or veterinary experience to ensure smooth appointments
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and recommendations
- Support team members with pet sitting or kennel duties when necessary to ensure overall animal care continuity
- Heavy lifting of animals or equipment may be required; follow proper safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming, veterinary technician work, veterinary assistant roles, or kennel care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and restraint methods to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Experience with dog training or behavioral management is a plus for calming anxious pets
- Familiarity with pet care routines such as pet sitting, pet grooming, or veterinary procedures
- Ability to handle animals safely during bathing and grooming processes; patience and compassion are essential
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting of animals or equipment regularly throughout the day
- Basic understanding of animal health indicators; veterinary experience or equine experience is advantageous but not required
