Housekeeper

Position Summary:

A Housekeeper is responsible for taking care of a buildings general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests and residents. Duties include cleaning floors, changing and laundering linen, and dusting surfaces throughout the building.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, mopping of hardwood, laminate, or tiled floors
• Maintains vacuuming equipment; vacuums and cleans carpets, performs further treatments such as shampooing or stain-removal
• Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, dusting and rearranging the room after guest check out
• Collect and remove trash and debris
• Scrub sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets in private and public bathrooms
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters
• Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
• Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job
• Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering service
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Must be able to obtain Health Card
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests.
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Physical strength and stamina to work extended periods
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust
• Proper practice of sanitation and general hygiene
• Ability to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions
• Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Able to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
• Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
• Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Education and Required Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in cleaning or janitorial roles
