Dispensary Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dispensary Manager to join our team. The Manager will work alongside the Owner and District Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, including but not limited to overseeing the inventory, supervising the staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the dispensary, including but not limited to opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and customer service.
- Ensure that all staff members are properly trained and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Work with the Owner and District Manager to establish sales goals, track progress, and implement strategies to achieve them.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking products, performing regular inventory audits, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Hire, train, schedule and manage staff at our dispensary to achieve established standards, sales, and profit objectives as well as customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations, including but not limited to cannabis laws, health and safety regulations, and employment laws.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and resolving customer issues and complaints.
- Ensure that all deadlines are met and take accountability for completion
- Ensure consistent execution of steps of service by using tools such as staff meetings, and customer feedback
- Constantly work to improve standards and customer satisfaction
- Take pride in the dispensary business and ensure the dispensary operates efficiently and profitably
- Effectively manage cash controls and financial reporting
- Ensure the check register, cash outs, bank logs, inventory and deposits are accurate and executed according to RNR's standard
- Effectively manage service labor, scheduling, and payroll
- Conduct performance reviews with employees & monitor employee productivity, attitudes, and performance results
- Maintain a general awareness of cannabis and retail trends to help create innovative and adaptive strategies
- Work closely with grower-processors to understand and learn about their products
- Become efficient in New York's seed-to-sale tracking system and integrated systems
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a cannabis dispensary or a retail environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Knowledge of cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations pertaining to cannabis dispensaries.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and lift items weighing < 30lbs.
- Must be able to pass a background check (excluding cannabis related offenses).
- Previous experience in overseeing a retail store startup preferred.
- Previous management proficiency in high volume retail with P&L accountability.
- Ability to create and maintain a customer focused culture.
- Cannabis experience is required
- Work/manage coverage of weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedule and willing to work 5-6 days per week including evening and weekends including opening and closing shifts.
