POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for maintaining the department database and all processes contributing to the execution of targeted marketing campaigns and ensuring the integrity of the same. Discover new and inventive ways of optimizing existing and future direct marketing activities, venues and resources; prepare and presents those ideas to upper management.
This position ensures the confidentiality, security and accuracy of guest’s and team member’s records, and promotes positive guest and team member relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding guest service to fellow team members, guests, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position directly manages the Database Coordinator position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of the Database Manager include but are not limited to:
- Oversees all aspects of direct marketing initiatives and database marketing including but not limited to direct mail, mobile and e-mail marketing programs.
- Work with Director of Marketing to provide reports and analysis to evaluate marketing programs and revenue goals.
- Safeguards and maintains the integrity and accuracy of the data in the guest database.
- Extracts and verifies all information from the database for all direct mail initiatives and compares it to matrices to ensure information extracted and notifications and offers are paired with the proper segments the correct.
- Proofs and approves all direct mail and online copy from the advertising prior to distribution.
- Assists in the development of all property planning, (i.e., forecasts, long-range plans, annual plans, and capital plans).
- Analyzes percentage of increase/ decrease to guest database and retention programs on an ongoing basis, develops innovative ways to entice guests and ensure repeat business.
- Thoroughly understands all aspects of the Casino’s operation, cognizant of competitors’ offerings, marketing conditions and their effect on direct marketing.
- Continually explores new methods for printing and mailing promotional advertisements and remains up to date on postal rules and regulations.
- Work with upper management to provide data and analysis as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science or related field required and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have five (5) years of direct marketing or database management experience required. Must have the ability to successfully influence guest behavior, listen and communicate effectively. The position requires a well-organized, personable and great problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to prepare spreadsheets, maintain a database and have basic mathematical skills. This position requires extensive working knowledge of direct marketing, database programming, and Casino Management System Software. Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Office programs including Access, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point is required. Prior experience working with Bally’s CMP and BI products strongly preferred.
Must possess excellent communication, public speaking, presentation, time management, and critical thinking skills. The ability to work with mathematical concepts (i.e., probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry), and apply concepts (i.e., fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions) to practical situations. The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form required. Expertise in all areas of database management including data capture, pro-forma development, back-end analysis, programming, and statistical modeling is preferred.
Must be a minimum of 21 years old and can obtain and retain a Washington State Class III Gaming License; successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Primarily indoors and may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also, from time-to-time, be exposed to noise from slot machines, customers, music and public announcement systems, as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.
