Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling coats to meet client specifications and breed standards
- Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring proper restraint and safety during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene tasks to promote overall health and comfort
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide advice on pet coat styling and maintenance
- Manage animal handling with compassion, ensuring a calm environment for pets of all temperaments
- Assist with pet training or behavioral guidance as needed to facilitate grooming sessions
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and mobile workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage animals safely during grooming procedures
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, animal restraint, and basic pet care practices
- Experience working with veterinary professionals or understanding veterinary procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to handle larger or heavier pets safely
