Position Overview
We are seeking a Foreman / In-Field Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple telecom construction crews in the field. This is a key leadership role that ensures successful execution of fiber drop installations to residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and technical expertise in outside plant (OSP) telecom construction.

Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Management & Leadership
Supervise and coordinate multiple crews across different project sites.
Ensure productivity, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
Mentor and train crew leads to maintain a strong, motivated team.
Manage daily field operations, including aerial and underground fiber drop installation, splicing coordination, and restoration work.
Serve as the on-site point of contact for project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
Quickly resolve field issues, including blocked ducts, aerial obstructions, utility conflicts, or other unforeseen conditions.
Assign daily work orders and monitor progress.
Adjust schedules and allocate resources to meet deadlines.
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with installation standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues before project handoff.
Enforce OSHA safety practices, lead tailgate safety meetings, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Provide daily and weekly progress reports, including completed footage, drop counts, and field delays/issues.
Maintain clear communication with project managers and leadership about project status and risks.
Qualifications
Required:
5 years of experience in telecom construction, specifically with aerial and underground fiber drops.
Proven track record managing multiple crews and delivering projects on schedule.
Strong knowledge of OSP construction methods: directional drilling, plowing, aerial placement, splicing coordination, and fiber testing.
Ability to read and interpret construction prints, maps, and schematics.
Excellent organizational and communication skills to keep stakeholders aligned.
Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability.
Preferred:
Experience working with broadband service providers.
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, GIS mapping tools, or field reporting apps).
OSHA 10/30 certification or other safety training.
Knowledge of permitting processes and utility coordination best practices.
